CAN'T FORGET is an 11 x 17 inch piece created with multimedia on 100lb card stock. The script in the background is written in ink titled - "In Flanders Fields". It is a war poem written during the First World War by Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae, a Canadian doctor. To complement the time when the poem was written, Mary chose to depict a soldier wearing a First World War combat uniform. The soldier is drawn with colored pencil and alcohol-based markers. The intense pain it displays parallels the meaning of the poem itself.
